Our Dance Philosophy

For over 40 years, Edmonton Dance Factory has been a place for dancers to train, grow and discover what they are capable of. We believe strong technique matters, but so does everything built alongside it; the confidence to take risks, the discipline to keep working, the pride that comes with progress and a genuine love of dance.

EDF offers classes in Jazz, Ballet, Acro, Hip Hop, Tap, Lyrical/Contemporary, Musical Theatre, Jumps & Turns, Stretch & Strength, Pointe, Pre-Pointe and Improvisation, taught by our experienced and passionate faculty. Our programming is designed to provide a strong technical foundation while giving dancers the opportunity to explore different disciplines, perform, set goals and find their own path in dance.

Our program is built around three goals:

To develop strong, confident dancers through quality technical training, self-discipline and a sense of accomplishment in their progress.

To create a positive and meaningful dance experience where students are challenged, supported and encouraged to develop a genuine love of dance.

To build skills that extend beyond the studio by developing confidence, resilience, teamwork and a strong work ethic through training and performance.

Our program is flexible, allowing dancers to build a schedule that reflects their interests, goals and level of commitment. Whether a student dances once a week or spends many hours at the studio, there are opportunities to participate in competitions, exams and performances throughout the season, including our year-end recital.

We offer classes from preschool through advanced levels, with opportunities designed to meet dancers wherever they are in their training and support them as their goals evolve. We also offer sessional and half year programming for dancers looking for a shorter commitment while still having the opportunity to learn, move and experience everything dance has to offer.

Meet Our Faculty

At EDF, we believe great dance training is about more than developing strong technique.
